Nursery & Kids Ministry

We love kids at Roots! We’ve got two programs, based on age.

Nursery – (Babies and toddlers)

Parents and guardians are invited to bring their babies and toddlers to the nursery before or during the worship gathering, as needed. Children will be cared for by Roots caregivers in a safe, comfortable environment with toys and activities just for them. It is Roots policy for diapers to be changed by the parents of the child only: there is a changing station in the nursery and in the men’s and women’s bathrooms. You are also welcome to feed your baby in the nursery or in the prayer room in the main worship space, or anywhere you feel comfortable. We hope babies and toddlers at Roots will feel God’s great love for them as are nurtured and loved by the Roots community.

Kids Ministry – (Elementary age kids)

Kids in elementary school are invited to participate in worship for the first 15 minutes or so. Then our pastor will pray for the kids and they will be dismissed to follow two Roots kids ministry leaders to a room just for them.
Kids will learn a Bible story, discover God’s great love for them, and have fun with our kids ministry leaders. About fifteen minutes before the end of the gathering–just after the pastor wraps up his or her message–kids rejoin the adults to participate in the rest of the worship gathering. We hope kids at Roots will form deep relationships with one another, with the adults at Roots, and with Jesus.

Location

The nursery and kids ministry room are located in the east wing of Central Lutheran School. If you are facing the welcome table outside the gathering area, just turn around and walk (south) down the hallway. You will see a banner marking the door to each room.
