Kara grew up in Sioux Falls, SD, and attended Bethel College and Seminary before serving in a variety of ministry positions, including pastor to youth and families at Roseville Covenant Church, Director of Training at Youth Leadership, adjunct instructor at Bethel Seminary, and occasional speaker for youth retreats. Kara was ordained as a pastor in the Covenant Church in 2010 and has served as the Director of Children & Family Ministry for the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church for the past 5 years. Her conference work has been, and will continue to be, part time while she takes on this interim role at Roots.
A few words from Kara:
Serving as interim pastor of Roots for this season of transition was an easy yes. My husband and our three kids are members of First Covenant in St. Paul and helped Roots get off the ground 4 years ago. We’ve lived in the Como neighborhood for 16 years and love this community. I hope to see you out shopping for groceries, walking kids to school or running around the lake, and look forward to being a part of the Roots community as your interim pastor.
We’re thrilled to welcome Kara into our community during this time of transition. Welcome, Kara!
